Use the Contraction Timer

Time contractions, save individual waves, and finish tracking.

Time a contraction on the web

  1. Open Tools → Contraction Timer. Professionals should select the intended client.
  2. Select Start when the contraction begins.
  3. Use the available intensity or stage controls as needed.
  4. Select Stop when the contraction ends to save that wave.
  5. Start again for the next contraction. When finished, stop any active contraction, then select Finish tracking.

Stopping a wave and ending tracking are different

Stop saves the current contraction. Tracking can remain open between contractions until you select Finish tracking. Saved history lets you review duration, timing, intensity, and any notes available for your account.

Shared access

Authorized care-team users may see or control tracking according to their current permissions. If an action is unavailable, check the selected client and current session controller. Avoid starting a second account or deleting history to resolve a display issue.

When you need care

The timer records your entries; it does not diagnose labor or provide medical monitoring. Follow your care team’s instructions about when to call or seek care. Use emergency services when needed.
